Many didn’t know that waheedha is a Tamil lady. By and large public memory is confined to Hema in 70s and Vaijaynthi in 50s. Waheedha ruled the 60s and 70s but rarely people knew she as Tamil lady.
When a Pakistan born Yusuf Khan wanted to be called as Dileep Kumar and a Mahjabeen Bano wanted to be called as Meena Kumari, Waheedha chose to be called as Waheedha.
