Anyone else here have diabetes ?

If you have , have you taken any steps to control it ...

i am going to be a lot more stricter with my diet ...

i am sort of strict with my diet ... but this summer ... due to the extreme heat .. i have been drinking all sorts of tea and lemonade .. i could not control it like i wanted

So from today on wards i am going to take it a little bit more seriously

Thanks :)

Today is Sunday ... So no work and i have plenty of time to think ...

I am planning to move more to the vegetarian side in diet ...

Today's breakfast

3 dosa with chutney
1 egg omelette
1 glass of diabetic protein drink

that should do it .

i know i should control sugar and carbohydrate intake

Sugar is easy to control ... you can simply avoid sugary food

i should have a more detailed plan to control the carbohydrate intake

But in the initial few weeks i will try to keep it minimal :)

Instead of going so hard on yourself or following a strict diet, you could think of a diet plan which will be sustainable.

It is not worth it if you follow a stricter diet for a week or 2, or even a month or 2 and switch back to normal diet. Sometimes, we tend to eat more to make up for the deficit during 'stricter' diet.

Best way to cheat your brain is let it never know you are following a diet plan. Instead of calling it a 'diet', change the 'habit' or the lifestyle

Intermittent fasting works. Start slowly and Try to achieve 8 hour open window and 16 hours closing window within 3 weeks and sustain it.

I am not a doctor or diabetic....

Diabetes is not a disease... changing life style little , activities and diet are enough...

Some people are taking chamomile tea, fenugreek soaked water in the morning...

Some youtubers/ healers are giving suggestions... but one of my uncle's said, these ideas made his sugar very low... Hypoglycemia he faced... so better avoid these suggestions... not sure about youtubers...

proper excercises, healthy food, zero sugar are the way... fruits little okiee I think ..if the level is normal, apple , papaya , pear good ... 3 times meal , and healthy snacks like sprouts, salads good...

You are taking diabetic protein ? Doctor prescribed it ?

Eat well, sleep well, reduce worries 😊 you are healthy

Take care...

Thanks for the reply Agnii ,

I don't think i have the capacity or the mood to follow intermittent fasting during this summer heat ...

Because i get tired easily and i also have lot of accounting related work at office , so it can be really tiring if i stay away from food for that long ...

My diet that i have in my mind does not look that hard or strict ...

I simply have plans to reduce rice and instead i am going to eat wheat related food more ...

some say both are same in carbohydrate content but if i switch to chappathi , i don't have to eat too much of it ...

this change of habit is what i am planning to do ...

i wake up early morning and i go to the beach for brisk walking and some jogging ...

i have been doing that for 3 weeks now ...

and i am simply adding my own diet plans to it ...

that way maybe i can bring down my sugar levels :)

Hello Nilaa ,

Thanks for replying ...

Yea i was going to the gym daily until 6 months ago ...

i used to work out moderately ... then i developed some elbow pain ... its golfers elbow issue .. so i had to take a break from gym activities ...

Healthy food is what i am planning to eat ....

going to include more wheat related food in the diet ...

i don't have big problems avoiding sugary foods ... i only break that habit once or twice every month .... but i have to keep it more stricter than that ....

since this is not the first attempt ... my methods are getting more refined ...

i am getting more successful at implementing it :)

When i used to go to gym , i used to take whey protein daily ... that was a habit of mine ...

after quitting gym due to an elbow strain and pain ...

i thought i would drink this one instead ...

its called D - protein and you can google it for more information ...

my members in the family uses it after the doctor prescribed it for them ...

i thought it was ok to use it too ... :)

Today's lunch

3 chappathi with cabbage
i thought that was just a bit too plain ...
but i had to eat some beef roast with it ..

then looked inside the fridge , saw some grapes ... ate it ...

there was also some water melon in the fridge .... my mother made a juice with it ...

i drank it too ...

i hope some fruits are ok ....

i think i can only slowly make more progress ...

i don't think it is going to happen in one day :)
