Good morning everyone ...

My alarm started ringing at 5.15 ... i somehow woke up at 6 ...

got ready and i drove to the beach at 6.30

reached there at 6.40

started brisk walking and jogging near the beach at around 6.45 ...

continued till 7.20

now back home resting in my sofa ...

my wife and my mother is busy preparing breakfast for everyone at home ...

life is good :)

Yes , we have a beach near us ... its like only 4 kilometers away

Today too i went there and started my brisk walking and jogging at around 6.35 and continued till 7.25

its good to see some progress , its slow ... but there is progress ...

that makes me happy

yup you too stay happy and healthy ... :)

Why driving for a small distance like 4 kms? Cycling will be more effective

I think that would drain all my energy even before i reach there ...

because this brisk walking and light running can be very exhaustive ... i still cant run for more than 3 minutes straight ...

i mostly walk fast and do two rounds of 3 minutes running ....

gradually i hope i can increase that running duration ... to 5 or 10 minutes maximum ...

Hello again ,

I hope it is ok to write down my diet and exercise related progress here

the last 2 days i was not able to go to the beach and do jogging ... i needed some extra rest ... rest days are also good for the body ...

today i again woke up at 5:15 , got ready ...

reached the beach at 6.45 ... started walking and jogging till 7.30 ....

after that i also tried pushups in the beach after at least 6 months ... i had some golfers elbow issue

anyway after all that brisk walking and running ... i did pushups

1st set - 20 pushups
2nd set - 20 pushups

and continued till 7.50 ...

So today was an awesome day of workout for me

Dear Sir, Good that you are continuing your exercises relentlessly but the thing you miss out a whole is the food grains that you gulp that causes diabetes. Please read one valuable book Paleo diet by Niyander selvan. thats come in tamil. read it fully and replace your food with lots of veggies for grains. Wheat = rice = millet = any grain. So chapathis are no different than idly or dosa. Its ditto for the body. Whereas vegetables are different material. He has shown scientific proof in his book. Please read and (1) change your food (2) buy some fitness watch and measure your activities. daily walking steps about 15000 plus and your sleeping quality. Good luck.

Yes you were barking at the wrong tree.

I don't know how us Indians can replace all the grains from our diet and eat vegetables alone all the time

Instead of going so hard on yourself or following a strict diet, you could think of a diet plan which will be sustainable.

It is not worth it if you follow a stricter diet for a week or 2, or even a month or 2 and switch back to normal diet. Sometimes, we tend to eat more to make up for the deficit during 'stricter' diet.

Best way to cheat your brain is let it never know you are following a diet plan. Instead of calling it a 'diet', change the 'habit' or the lifestyle

I was kind of following her diet advice ... because if you try too much strictness in food ... its hard to make it practical in daily life ...

but if you follow your diet moderately you can manage it more easily

but thanks for the advice about paleo diet ...

i will try to read more about it

Hello again ,

saturday and sunday i rested ...

did not do anything ...

today i was a bit late to wake up ... i woke up at 6.30 only .... usually that is the time i leave to the beach ...

and i somehow managed to start exercising at the beach around 7.10 ...

after doing my usual brisk walking and running ....

i did a rough calculation ... i think i did 10 rounds of 500 meter walking ... and 2 rounds of 500 meter running ....

that is a total of 12 * 500 meter brisk walking and running ...

12 * 500 meters is 6000 meters

6000 meters to km gives me 6 kilometers

awesome ...

and after 6 kilometers of walking ... and some rest in between

i did pushups again ...



1st set - 20 pushups
2nd set - 20 pushups


So this was another awesome day for workouts

Hello again ,

2 days i rested , because i had some muscle pain after doing pushups after a 6 months gap ...

rest days are important for muscles to recover .... so that gap is ok ...

i will be leaving in maybe 10 or 15 minutes ...

i will come back and report the progress after 7.30 am ...

:)

started brisk walking and jogging at 6:15 am ...

i continued that till 7:30 ....

again doing 12 * 500 meters of brisk walking and running

walking and jogging 6000 meters was kind of fun today ....

after resting for 3 or 4 minutes ...

i did pushups again ...


1st set - 20 pushups
2nd set - 20 pushups

then it was almost 7:45 am ...

so today's workout duration was 1 hour and 30 minutes ....

i am only going to change this workout style when i get really fed up of it

Good to read about ur everyday physical activities.. i know u are taking good care of ur health.. are u doing the same towards your wife and mom?

Because somewhere u mentioned that ur mom and wife were preparing food for everyone when u were entering home after jogging.. are u encouraging her too ??
Because she is always busy in the morning right.. : )

Hello goodgirl ,

i asked my mother to come with me to the beach for a few minutes walk ... and she is too lazy to do that ...

she has diabetes too and she also has Diabetic neuropathy issues ...

she says she has a hard time sleeping at night ... due to pain in her shoulders and arms ...

so its hard for her to wake up in the morning and come with me to beach ...

she sometimes walks in the evening inside our property ... that is all she does ...

i have told my wife too to come with me in the morning ...

she says she has to start her work from 6.30 itself ... otherwise everything wont work on time ...

now its school vacations , and when the school opens for my daughter it becomes more hard to manage all the morning activities if she does not start a bit early .... she is going to be in 3rd grade next year ...

Time management is a bit of an issue

So , i am trying to think positive and also trying to do whatever i can with my limited time and resources ...

Anyone else here have diabetes ?

If you have , have you taken any steps to control it ...

i am going to be a lot more stricter with my diet ...

i am sort of strict with my diet ... but this summer ... due to the extreme heat .. i have been drinking all sorts of tea and lemonade .. i could not control it like i wanted

So from today on wards i am going to take it a little bit more seriously

Yea , i am going to keep my exercises very moderate ..

i am taking rest for three days , because i have some pain in the leg muscles and i also have some joint pain ...

that happens if you continuously work out ...

i hope with three days of rest that pain goes away

Increase amount and intensity gradually over time.

Hello again ...

I woke up at 5:15 .. got ready .. went to beach and started brisk walking in the beach at 6:25

i continued that activity till 7.30

again i was able to do 12*500 meters of brisk walking and running ...

taking 2 or 3 minutes of rest between some walking and running ...

my new fire boltt smart watch today showed 7000 steps achieved message in it ...

that was cool ... and it was the first time that watch showed me that ...

i felt so happy seeing that ...




after that activity and after some rest ...

i started doing pushups ...

this time increased the number of pushups ...

1st set - 30 pushups
2nd set - 30 pushups


So i feel good today ... because i did something useful for me

achieved 7000 steps ...

and did 60 pushups too

feeling happy
