Chat2Friends connects people worldwide through shared interests, having grown from Tamil2Friends into a broader, more inclusive social platform.
Chat2Friends is a chat room built for people who want to meet others and make new friends online. Unlike the big social platforms, it is built around conversation rather than broadcasting, and it lets people find each other through shared interests and hobbies.
Where the name came from
We launched as Tamil2Friends, a platform made specifically for the Tamil-speaking community. It became a busy home for Tamil chatters — and it still is; Tamil remains the largest room on the site. We rebranded to Chat2Friends to widen the doors and welcome people from other linguistic and cultural backgrounds without asking the original community to move anywhere.
What we run
- Six language rooms — Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Marathi — plus the general Indian chat room.
- Text, voice and video chat, public and private, on a video API we developed ourselves.
- A community forum where users and staff can talk in the open, and a blog.
- Guest access to everything. Registration is optional.
How we work
We do not use click bait, and we do not inflate our numbers. The user count shown on the site is the real count in the room — if we cannot read it, we show nothing rather than make one up. That is a deliberately low bar, and it is still more than most chat sites will say about their own traffic.
